Lindsey is a clinical mental health counseling student at Emory & Henry University, graduating in August 2026. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise, Sport, and Health Education from Radford University and has worked in the healthcare field since completing her undergraduate studies. Originally from Abingdon, she is honored and excited to serve the community she calls home. In her free time, she enjoys engaging in outdoor activities and spending time with my husband and animals.
Before graduate school, she worked as a health coach for a local hospital organization, helping patients build healthier lifestyles and develop mental health coping skills. That experience sparked her passion for counseling and led her to pursue this field.
“Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how'.” — Viktor E. Frankl
As an intern my main focus is immersing myself in the field and gaining experience in all areas of counseling.
Special interest in adolescents, teens, and young adults; identity development and life transitions.
Special interest in attachment trauma and emerging or established personality disorders.
Anxiety, stress management, and emotional regulation.
You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where your experiences are heard and respected. I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Our work may include identifying patterns, building coping strategies, and developing greater self-awareness to support meaningful change.
My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, with an emphasis on empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I also integrate techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), reality therapy, and existential perspectives. As a student clinician, my style is continually evolving, and I strive to remain flexible and responsive to each client’s individual needs and goals.
I aim to create a cozy, warm, and welcoming environment where clients feel at ease. My space is dimly lit, including calming tones with touches of navy, orange, and cream. Whether in-person or virtual, I want the environment to feel grounded, comfortable, and supportive of open conversation.
I am open and eager to work with individuals from all backgrounds.
